Ukraine Plans to Establish National Cyber Forces

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing to sign a decree to create national cyber forces. This was announced by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

“This decision was unanimously supported by all 21 members present at the meeting. I believe that the president will issue a decree on this in the near future,” Danilov said.

According to him, the closed NSDC meeting covered eight topics, including the approval of a cybersecurity strategy and issues related to biological security. The cybersecurity strategy defines responsibilities and roles in addressing information security matters and introduces new mechanisms for partnership between government and private entities in this field.

It is worth noting that the creation of cyber forces was first discussed in the Ukrainian parliament back in 2019.
