Telegram to Launch Premium Subscription with Exclusive Features

Telegram to Introduce Premium Subscription

After launching its advertising platform, Telegram is planning to introduce a Premium subscription that will offer users additional paid features.

The Telegram Beta channel discovered that version 8.7.2 beta of the Telegram app for iOS includes a variety of emoji and sticker reactions marked as exclusive to Telegram Premium. When users try to select these stickers, they are prompted to sign up for the paid service. Free users will not be able to view premium stickers in chats; instead, they will be encouraged to subscribe to the premium service.

Subscribers will receive a star icon next to their account name, indicating their premium status.

New Avatar Creator and Other Features

According to the r/telegram subreddit, another new feature is an avatar creator. This tool will allow users to combine gradients with emojis, stickers, or monograms to create simple or patterned avatars. The feature was found in the beta version for macOS.

Telegram has not yet officially commented on the reports about the paid subscription.

In the April update, Telegram introduced customizable notifications. Now, users can choose their own notification sounds, such as a favorite melody. To do this, simply tap a short audio file or voice message in a chat and add it to your notification sounds list.
