Tails 5.17 Linux Distribution Released
The specialized Linux distribution Tails 5.17 (The Amnesic Incognito Live System) has been released. Tails is based on Debian and is designed for anonymous internet access. Anonymity in Tails is provided by the Tor system. By default, all connections except those routed through the Tor network are blocked by a packet filter. User data is encrypted when using the persistent storage feature, allowing data to be saved securely between sessions.
The new release is available as a 1.2 GB ISO image that can be run in Live mode.
