Tails 4.3 and Tor Browser 9.0.5 Released
The release of the specialized Tails 4.3 distribution (The Amnesic Incognito Live System) has been announced. Tails is based on Debian packages and is designed to provide anonymous internet access. Anonymity in Tails is achieved through the Tor network. By default, all connections except those routed through Tor are blocked by a packet filter. User data persistence between sessions is protected with encryption. The new release is available as a 1 GB ISO image that can run in Live mode.

- Thunderbird updated to 68.4.1.
- Tor updated to 0.4.2.6.
- VirtualBox Guest Additions updated to 6.1.2.
- Added the trezor package, which provides a command-line client for Trezor hardware wallets, allowing secure storage of cryptocurrency keys.
- Improved the update process by fixing the progress indicator and preventing accidental closure of the update window during installation.
Tor Browser 9.0.5 Highlights
Alongside Tails 4.3, the new version of Tor Browser 9.0.5 has also been released. Tor Browser is focused on ensuring anonymity, security, and privacy. This release is synchronized with the Firefox 68.5.0 ESR codebase, which addresses 11 vulnerabilities. Of these, 7 issues grouped under CVE-2020-6800 could potentially allow attackers to execute code. Additional updates include:
- Tor updated to 0.4.2.6.
- NoScript extension updated to 11.0.13.
- Added a new bridge node in Denmark.
