Krasnoyarsk Road Sign Hacked with Unusual Greeting

Unknown Hackers Breach Information Board at Krasnoyarsk City Entrance

Today, residents and visitors entering Krasnoyarsk were greeted by an unexpected message on the city’s road signs. Instead of the usual “Welcome to Krasnoyarsk – City of Labor Valor,” the information board displayed the phrase “Evening in the cell, inmates,” a slang greeting commonly used in prison culture.

At the same time, Ukrainian Telegram channels reported incidents of information system breaches on toll roads. It remains unclear whether these two events are connected, but both highlight the vulnerability of technological information networks.

According to the Telegram channel My Cyber Defense, gaining access to certain elements of the technological network used to manage road traffic is not a difficult task. The current situation once again proves the old Russian saying: “A man won’t cross himself until the thunder strikes.” However, the next “thunder” could be something far more dangerous than just an unusual message.

Drivers and residents of Krasnoyarsk quickly noticed the scrolling message with its slang greeting and contacted the city’s Department of Urban Services. However, the message soon disappeared on its own, without any outside intervention.
