I-Robo: The Robot Chef That Can Cook 100,000 Dishes

I-Robo: The Robot Chef Revolutionizing the Restaurant Industry

TechMagic, a Tokyo-based company, has recently attracted attention with its innovative product—a commercial cooking robot called I-Robo. This device has already made a name for itself in East Asian restaurants, including well-known Chinese restaurant chains in Japan, and even won the “Robotics” category at CES 2024. I-Robo has become a true sensation in the restaurant business.

Key Features and Benefits

The main goal of I-Robo is to reduce labor costs and increase profitability. According to TechMagic, the trial period of using I-Robo in several Japanese organizations has already improved these metrics by as much as nine points.

I-Robo’s standout features include automating the cooking process—such as stirring and seasoning—as well as a self-cleaning frying pan. This functionality is enhanced by a cloud-based recipe library, allowing even beginner cooks or staff from other departments to prepare sophisticated dishes.

“Our intelligent algorithms offer unique, customizable recipes that meet the needs of modern culinary enthusiasts and enhance the gastronomic experience,” TechMagic stated.

Smart Technology and User-Friendly Design

I-Robo aims to create a sustainable food infrastructure. The device is equipped with a touchscreen panel that simplifies interface navigation. Thanks to this feature, users can easily explore and recreate recipes developed by professional chefs from around the world.

TechMagic emphasizes that the robot can flexibly and accurately adjust temperature and heating time, as well as the speed and direction of the frying pan’s rotation, according to the selected recipe.

“All the user needs to do is select a recipe on the touchscreen, and I-Robo will take care of the cooking process,” the company said.

Proven Performance and Future Plans

TechMagic founder Yuji Shiraki highlighted that their robots can perform various cooking tasks, such as boiling, stewing, and frying. “In Japan, they are already in operation and have successfully prepared over 100,000 dishes in the past six months,” Shiraki added.

The founder also stated that TechMagic offers advanced technology with unique Japanese attention to detail and plans to bring I-Robo to international markets soon, hoping to address pressing issues in the global food industry.
