Harry Potter’s Crabbe Actor Jamie Waylett Sells Personalized Videos After Legal Troubles

Jamie Waylett, the actor who played Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films and was convicted for growing cannabis, is now making money by selling personalized videos online.

Cannabis Conviction Ended His Harry Potter Career

In 2009, 20-year-old Jamie Waylett and his friend John Innis were detained for taking photos of a police car. Police found a butterfly knife and marijuana in Innis’s car. On Waylett’s phone, officers discovered photos of cannabis plants, and the actor admitted to cultivating cannabis. This led police to search Waylett’s mother’s house, where they found 10 cannabis plants growing in a tent in his bedroom.

For cultivating cannabis, Waylett was sentenced to community service, while Innis was fined £500 (about 59,850 rubles) and sentenced to six months in a young offenders’ institution for possession of marijuana and a knife. Due to his legal issues, Waylett did not appear in the final two Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” The actor apologized to the film’s producers, crew, cast, and all fans of the fantasy series.

Waylett Now Sells Videos to Fans for Nearly 20,000 Rubles

Waylett’s troubles didn’t end there. In 2011, he was arrested again for public disorder during the London riots, when he was caught robbing a pharmacy. He was found with a Molotov cocktail, which he intended to use to set a building on fire. For this crime, he was sentenced to two years in prison. After his release in 2013, Waylett settled down and has not had further run-ins with the law.

This year, Waylett decided to earn money on the Cameo platform, where users can order personalized videos from celebrities, such as birthday greetings. Jamie sells these videos to fans for £164 (about 19,631 rubles). He has changed a lot since his Harry Potter days, but still greets fans with, “Vincent Crabbe, straight from Hogwarts.”

Harry Potter Role Still Pays Off

Waylett’s arrest for cannabis effectively ended his acting career, making “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (released in 2009) his last film appearance. Nevertheless, his connection to one of the world’s biggest franchises still helps Jamie earn a living from home to this day.
