Former Moscow Drug Control Chief Arrested for Narcotics

FSB agents have detained a former high-ranking officer of the Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) in the Ivanovo region. He is suspected of organizing several underground laboratories for the production of synthetic drugs.

The detainee is the former head of one of the divisions of the FSKN for Moscow and the Moscow region. His identity has not been officially disclosed. According to the security service, this individual set up a network of drug labs, led members of a criminal group, and managed financial flows.

According to the authorities, the drug labs used the forced labor of foreign nationals who were “held against their will under threat of physical violence.” Investigators allege that members of the criminal organization distributed drugs using luxury vehicles equipped with sirens, as well as uniforms with FSB insignia.

During searches, FSB officers seized more than 59 kilograms of drugs, over 10 tons of liquid containing narcotics, laboratory equipment, and weapons.
