Firefox 122.0.1 Update Released
The corrective update Firefox 122.0.1 is now available, featuring the following fixes:
- Resolved an issue in the “Open in New Container Tab” option, accessed from the context menus in the library and sidebar, where only icons (without text labels) from the Multi-Account Containers extension were displayed.
- Fixed incorrect application of the yaru-remix system theme in Linux-based environments.
- Addressed a Windows-specific bug that caused a page to open in a new tab even after clicking the Dismiss button in a pop-up notification.
- In the developer tools’ page inspector, removed the addition of an extra line when pasting rules from the clipboard.
- Reverted a change in the behavior of the Enter key when editing rules in developer tools. In Firefox 122, pressing Enter confirmed the input and set focus on the corresponding element. In Firefox 122.0.1, the previous behavior has been restored, where pressing Enter moves the focus to the next input field.
Introduction of Mozilla Monitor Plus
At the same time, Mozilla has introduced Mozilla Monitor Plus, an enhanced paid option for the free Mozilla Monitor service. This new service allows users to continuously monitor attempts to sell their personal data and automatically send requests to remove user information from data broker sites attempting to sell personal information.
The service monitors over 190 sites that trade in personal data, including full names, phone numbers, home addresses, information about relatives and children, and criminal records. To start monitoring, users are asked to provide their first and last name, city of residence, date of birth, and email address.
The classic free Firefox Monitor provides alerts if your account is compromised (checked via email) or if there is an attempt to log in to a previously breached site. This check is performed through integration with the haveibeenpwned.com database, which contains information on 12.9 billion accounts stolen from 744 breached sites.
