DuckDuckGo Introduces AI Chat for Anonymous Conversations with Popular Chatbots

DuckDuckGo, the privacy-focused search engine, has launched a new feature called DuckDuckGo AI Chat. According to the developers, this free service allows users to interact with several popular AI-powered chatbots while maintaining complete anonymity. The service hides the user’s IP address by routing requests through DuckDuckGo’s own servers.

Available Chatbot Models

DuckDuckGo AI Chat gives users access to the following models:

  • GPT-3.5 Turbo by OpenAI
  • Claude 3 Haiku by Anthropic
  • Meta Llama 3
  • Mixtral 8x7B

Users can choose their preferred model and start a conversation. The company has announced plans to expand the list of available chatbots in the future.

Commitment to Privacy

β€œOur mission is to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be easy. We believe people should be able to use the internet and other digital tools without feeling like they have to sacrifice their privacy,” the project’s website states.

Beta Testing and Future Plans

Currently, DuckDuckGo AI Chat is in beta testing. The service remains free within daily usage limits, with a paid plan available for more intensive use. Future updates are expected to include new features, such as customizable system prompts.
