DriveSavers Launches Official iPhone Unlocking Service for Consumers
The American company DriveSavers has introduced a new service called Passcode Lockout Data Recovery, which allows for the unlocking of any smartphone, including iOS devices that are typically considered difficult to hack. This service is intended for regular users and is not available to law enforcement agencies or other government organizations.
According to DriveSavers, the service is designed to help device owners who have forgotten their passcode, those whose devices have been locked after unsuccessful password attempts, or users who need access to the smartphone of a deceased family member.
With this service, users can recover contacts, video clips, photos, voice messages, and text messages. Unlocking a single device costs $3,900. To use the service, customers must send their smartphone, tablet, or laptop to the company, which promises to return the device unlocked. Proof of ownership is required, and depending on the situation, DriveSavers may request a death certificate, will, court order, or other legal documents.
โIn the event of a personโs death, we verify the clientโs identity through interviews and documentation,โ the company stated.
DriveSavers uses a proprietary technology for unlocking devices, which was previously used exclusively by law enforcement. However, the company does not disclose the specific methods used to bypass device security. In addition to iPhones and iPads, DriveSavers claims it can unlock devices running Windows, BlackBerry, and Android operating systems.
