Twitter Launches Privacy Center
Twitter has launched a new centralized resource that brings together all information about the company’s efforts to protect user data. The new website, called the Twitter Privacy Center, will feature updates on initiatives and new products aimed at safeguarding privacy, as well as information about security incidents.
According to Twitter specialists, the goal was to create a centralized hub where users can easily find all details about Twitter’s work in the field of data protection. The introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy laws played a significant role in increasing the company’s efforts in this area.
Twitter recognized the need for a more organized approach to user data protection for its own operations. As a result, it made sense to create a separate, user-friendly website where the company could highlight its data protection activities.
What’s Inside the Privacy Center?
The information on the site is divided into two main sections: one for users and another for partners. The partner section includes pages dedicated to GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and more. The user section introduces visitors to Twitter’s privacy policies, terms of service, account settings, and other important information.
In addition, Twitter has updated its terms of service to clarify that its license allows the company to curate, transform, and translate user-submitted content. The updated privacy policies also explain how Twitter processes user data and shares user tweets with developers.
