Sberbank Introduces Scam Call Number Detection Service

Starting in April 2021, Sberbank will roll out a new feature in its mobile app, “Sberbank Online,” that identifies incoming calls from scammers. This was announced by Kirill Tsarev, Deputy Chairman of the bank’s management board.

“In the near future, we plan to introduce a caller identification service to help combat cyber fraud at this level, as well as implement additional algorithms to detect potential illegal activities,” Tsarev stated.

He added, “We expect to fully launch this service for protection against fraudulent calls in March-April. Starting in April, clients using the ‘Sberbank Online’ app will begin receiving this feature, and it will gradually become available to everyone.”

The app will also feature a dedicated section focused on user security.
