How to Block Scam and Spam Calls with Yandex Caller ID

Are you tired of scam calls, persistent telemarketers, and unwanted phone spam? Today, let’s talk about how you can protect yourself from fraudulent calls and intrusive phone advertising. While some of you may already know this life hack, many will find this information surprisingly useful.

Yandex offers a range of helpful apps, and recently, they introduced a powerful Caller ID feature. This tool can help you:

  • Warn you about calls from scammers
  • Alert you to calls from fake bank employees
  • Identify unwanted calls, such as telemarketing

If you receive a call from a number not in your contacts, the app checks the Yandex Directory, which currently contains about five million organizations. If it finds a match, the company name and type of business will appear on your screen—even for missed calls.

If the number isn’t in the Directory, the app checks a database of user reviews. These reviews help identify suspicious numbers linked to scams or advertising, as well as harmless ones like your bank or internet provider. Yandex will notify you about all such callers.
