NLP Technique: The “Labyrinth” Method
Before diving into the details of this technique, I’d like to remind you about the so-called theory of ETROPs (Emotional Traumatic Experiences). We know how the neurological code (VAKD) works: when a client has a problem, the first step is to ask them to “recall the problem,” “feel where it is in your body” (where does it tingle, ache, press, etc.?), place a hand on that spot, and describe its size, shape, color, consistency, and so on. After this, standard work with the “part” begins (transformation, resourcing, etc.).
It’s important to note that this kind of work with “parts” is not just an exercise in imagination. The concepts of “masses/things in the body/includes and introjects” come from quantum biology, which suggests that any psychological or physical illness is initiated by Emotional Traumatic Experiences (ETROPs) that occurred in the recent or distant past.
When an ETROP happens in your life, the emotions associated with it “concentrate” in a specific area of the brain and, according to Hamer, form a “closed oscillatory circuit.” Since almost every area of the brain is connected to a specific organ or body part, this results in increased (or decreased) muscle and blood vessel tone in a certain area of the body. This means that any problem can truly be felt on a physiological level. By properly working through the ETROP (using known psychotechnologies), we “break” that closed circuit in the corresponding brain area.
In any case, the coding of problems happens first in our mind, and only then is reflected somewhere in the body. In other words, the body is always secondary to the mind.
Based on this, I developed the “Labyrinth” psychotechnology, which involves working directly with the brain zones where ETROPs are encoded.
The “Labyrinth” Technique: Step-by-Step
- Identify the problem area.
- Visualize your brain as a labyrinth.
- Find the entrance to the labyrinth (which is also the exit). Get permission to enter from the labyrinth’s guardian.
- Receive a “magic ball of thread” from the guardian (like the one Daedalus gave Ariadne) to help you navigate in and out of the labyrinth.
- Release the ball of thread, letting it roll deep into the labyrinth to the place where the solution or answer lies.
- Follow the path created by the thread, working through all possible obstacles according to the levels of the general intent generation model:
- Mass: pits, cracks, traps, debris, obstacles, etc.
- Space: animals, strange creatures, shadows, ghosts, etc. (anyone you heal/feed/save/gain favor with, invite to join you on your journey).
- Energy: dark places to illuminate, flooded sections, blockages, etc.
- Time: as you move toward your goal, you may encounter an image of your past self who once accepted a negative belief that led to your current problem. Resource your past self and invite them to join you.
- Vacuum: you may meet “doppelgängers”—negative images of yourself (wounded, moaning, lost, etc.). Work through each image using known techniques. Invite each processed “self-image” to join your group.
- Field of consciousness: pass the “Orpheus Test.” The final corridor leads you to the “sunlight” (the field of intent). Along the way, you’ll encounter those who believe the problem can’t be solved (representations of your negative beliefs about this area) and who will try to stop you. With the support of those you’ve gathered, work through each negative belief. If you can’t proceed without force or if you turn back, return to the labyrinth’s start and repeat, addressing missed details.
- Intent: after passing the “Orpheus Test,” you’ll reach the point of your intent (the labyrinth’s control center). Get permission from everyone you’ve brought with you for the final transformation. Once granted, visualize the “change launch panel” and press the “start” button.
- After the transformation, you’ll gain access to the solution area or receive an artifact—“Icarus’ Wings”—to transport you to the relevant area.
- Once the problem is resolved, return the same way, taking with you everyone and everything that no longer belongs in the Labyrinth.
- Thank the labyrinth’s guardian and return the magic ball of thread.
- Say goodbye to everyone and everything you brought out of the Labyrinth. Ask the guardian not to let them back in.
- Collapse the labyrinth and integrate it back into yourself.
Key Principles for Working with Symbols
When using this psychotechnology, remember the basic principles of working with symbols, as described in many books on symbol drama:
- Principle of confrontation
- Principle of transformation
- Principle of feeding
- Principle of reconciliation
- Principle of magical liquid
- Principle of exhaustion and killing (highly undesirable)
Applications and Additional Insights
Through experience, I’ve found that the “Labyrinth” psychotechnology can be widely applied. In particular, it’s suitable for solving problems in love and relationships. Among the obstacles in the labyrinth, you may also encounter “ghosts of ex-girlfriends”—images of past partners that need to be removed from the Labyrinth (your mind) after breaking codependency.
There are also interesting “zones” in the labyrinth, such as the dream zone, health zone, work zone, talent zone, unused resources zone, and so on. Each zone has its own “Guardian.”
Finally, this psychotechnology may be useful for assessing a person’s overall intellectual development. For example, pay attention to the size of the Labyrinth (large or small), its complexity (complex or simple), its general condition (clean and modern, or dirty and crumbling), and so on.
That’s all for now. If you find the “Labyrinth” psychotechnology helpful, feel free to try it out and use it.
