Quick Methods for Drying Buds Fast

Quick Methods for Drying Buds

There are many ways to quickly dry a bud, such as using an oven, frying pan, under a lamp socket, hair dryer, computer case, air fryer, and more. Here, I’ll share the most practical methods in my opinion—ones I use or have used myself.

1. For the More Patient (or If You Can Wait Until Morning)

This method is suitable for those who are at least somewhat patient, or if you want to try the bud soon but not immediately. Cut the bud, chop it finely with scissors, and spread it out on a paper napkin or toilet paper. Then, place it in a dry, dark place. At room temperature (68–77°F / 20–25°C), it will dry overnight, and you can sample it in the morning.

2. Microwave Oven

This is the fastest express-drying method. Place the whole bud in the microwave, set it to the lowest power, and run it for 3–5 minutes. Let it cool for a couple of minutes, and it’s ready. However, this method affects the taste the most—it can ruin it—and also reduces THC potency, as do all express-drying methods (some more than others).

3. The Most Optimal Method: Double Boiler

This is the best method with the least loss of quality, flavor, and time. Drying on a double boiler takes about 20–30 minutes. Place the chopped bud (medium or fine pieces) on a plate. It’s best to first press the bud on the table with a lighter to flatten it, then cut it into thin pieces. Put a pot of water on the stove, and place the plate with the bud on top of the pot. Turn on the heat. With this method, the bud won’t burn or overdry.

These are the main quick-drying methods I recommend based on personal experience.
