Russian Police Officer Turns His Home into a Cannabis Farm

In Veliky Ustyug, traffic police officers stopped a car that was moving erratically, suspecting the driver might be under the influence of psychoactive substances. Behind the wheel was, in fact, almost one of their ownโ€”a local police lieutenant.

At the time of the stop, the man was off duty. He did not refuse a rapid drug test, which revealed the presence of cannabinoids in his system. Later, police decided to search the officerโ€™s house in the village of Slobodka, where they discovered 23 cannabis plants.

According to the grower-cop, he was cultivating the plants solely for personal use. He now faces up to three years in prison.
