Cannabis Consumption Increasing Among Older Americans
The annual “Monitoring the Future” group study report for 2022, which tracks trends and prevalence of drug use, has revealed that approximately 20% of Americans aged 50 to 60 used cannabis in the past 12 months. When asked about their cannabis use over the previous year, 21% of 50-year-olds and 19% of 60-year-olds reported having used it, marking the highest percentage ever recorded by the survey for this age group.
The report also showed that cannabis use has significantly increased over the last 12 months among people aged 35 to 50, reaching a record high of 28%.
This raises an interesting question: Are older generations becoming more aware of the health and wellness benefits of the plant?
