Medical Marijuana in the US to Be Labeled Using Blockchain Technology

An American company, India Globalization Capital, has proposed using distributed ledger technology to guarantee the identity and origin of medical marijuana. The company announced this initiative on its official website.

In their publication, they referenced a study from the medical journal JAMA, which found that about 70% of cannabidiol-containing products sold on online platforms are incorrectly labeled.

According to Ram Mukunda, CEO of India Globalization Capital, the company plans to create a universal blockchain platform to address several issues facing the medical marijuana industry and its users.

Following this announcement, the company’s stock price and trading volume increased by more than 100%.
