The dispute arose after a Supreme Court decision sent a case regarding gun rights for marijuana users back for review.

Attorneys for the patients argue that their clients, who use cannabis legally under state law, should not face restrictions. The Justice Department, however, continues to insist on the ban, claiming it aligns with public safety principles.
