5 MJ-Based Products
MJ has been used in traditional medicine long before official bans and social disapproval. Centuries-old traditions have preserved recipes that are now being revived by many outstanding companies and individuals. The movement for legalization began after a cancer patient achieved remarkable results—by using MJ, he was able to relieve pain and fight his illness more confidently.
Today, there are MJ-based products that can help patients with multiple sclerosis, arthritis, or gout. Cannabinoid derivatives are actively used in the treatment of serious neurological and psychiatric disorders such as epilepsy, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and many others.
Ointments and creams with MJ oil are used for dermatitis and acne. Their use is even approved for children, as topical application does not cause psychotropic effects but provides local anti-inflammatory, healing, and pain-relieving benefits.
Currently, there are five main MJ-based products available:
1. MJ Oil
This natural remedy is distinguished by its impressive content of fatty acids—omega-3, 6, and 9—as well as essential fatty acids and a rich multivitamin complex. MJ oil contains virtually no THC, as the seeds have only 0.02% psychoactive cannabinoids, most of which are destroyed during processing.
Benefits of using MJ oil include:
- Strengthening blood vessel walls and the myocardium
- Lowering cholesterol and cleansing blood vessels
- Increasing red blood cell count
- Anti-tumor effects
- Healing inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract and lungs
Additionally, MJ oil is used to ease the side effects of chemotherapy, reducing pain, nausea, and weakness, and improving appetite. To preserve its beneficial properties, manufacturers use cold-pressing technology. It is recommended to use the oil without heat treatment, in salads, soups, and other dishes.
Homemade face masks with MJ oil are recommended for eczema or psoriasis, and massaging it into the scalp can benefit hair roots. Using it for massage relieves fatigue and tension after physical exertion and helps with neuralgia and myalgia.
2. CBD Oil
CBD oil is an extract from various MJ strains. In addition to its main component, cannabidiol, it contains over a dozen different cannabinoids, with THC content not exceeding 0.2%.
This oil is taken orally for various conditions alongside primary treatments. The recommended dosage is 1 drop with each meal, up to 5 times a day. The product is even approved for children and has no contraindications.
CBD oil is used to treat:
- Cancer
- Intoxication
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Asthma and lung diseases
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Multiple sclerosis
Since MJ seeds do not contain THC or other psychotropic cannabinoids, their use and products made from them are legal and available for free sale.
3. Pharmaceutical Cosmetics
The cosmetics market has experienced a huge MJ boom following new waves of legalization. Cosmetics with MJ extract have become popular due to the abundance of active ingredients that promote cell growth and regeneration and help balance the skin. Cannabinoids have unique sun-protection properties, shielding skin and hair from harmful UV radiation.
MJ is included in products such as:
- Anti-aging complexes
- Acne treatments
- Care for sensitive and allergy-prone skin
- Treatments for psoriasis and eczema
- Remedies for dandruff and oily scalp
These products also have excellent nourishing and restorative properties, supporting youthfulness and natural beauty.
4. Cannabinoid Patches
Previously, such patches were used only for cuts and burns. In 2015, Zynerba Pharmaceuticals introduced an innovative patch capable of treating serious conditions such as:
- Refractory epilepsy
- Fragile X syndrome
- Arthritis and arthrosis
- Fibromyalgia
- Neuropathies
Pharmacists note that transdermal delivery of cannabinoids significantly minimizes side effects.
5. Raw MJ Products
The use of MJ seeds, supplements, or MJ protein is reaching a new level. The amount of nutrients available from these products is enormous.
For those practicing raw food diets or vegetarianism, MJ is an excellent source of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids. Unlike other crops, MJ does not contain gluten.
In medicine, tinctures from MJ seeds or porridge, as well as sprouted MJ seeds, are used in smoothies and shakes.
Many people now consume plant-based products to boost immunity and stabilize the nervous system. Adding MJ to your diet can improve memory and productivity, increase libido, and strengthen the heart.
Research and use of MJ are advancing rapidly, and we may soon see another amazing breakthrough thanks to MJ.
