Sheep Cause Chaos in British Village After Eating Cannabis

A flock of sheep that ate cannabis caused a commotion in the British village of Rhydypandy, near the city of Swansea in South Wales, according to The Daily Mail. The animals entered the village and, according to eyewitnesses, behaved excitedly and strangely.

β€œThey were wandering the streets, breaking into gardens, and one sheep even entered a house and made a mess in the bedroom,” said local resident Ioan Richard.

Villagers believe the most likely cause of the flock’s behavior was leftover cannabis that the animals may have found in the area around Rhydypandy. A makeshift drug production site had recently been discovered nearby.

Residents reported the incident to the police, asking authorities to quickly remove any remaining illegal plants and materials from the area.

In July 2002, the legal status of cannabis in the United Kingdom was changed to allow partial legalization. The drug was reclassified from Class B to Class C, meaning that possession of small amounts of cannabis and its derivatives is not a crime. However, in certain cases, using cannabis can still lead to criminal prosecution (for example, if the drug is used in the presence of children).
