Moscow Among the Worldβs Top 10 Cities for Cannabis Consumption
Moscow has secured ninth place in the global ranking of cannabis consumption, according to experts from the American startup Seedo. The 2018 Cannabis Price Index study compared cannabis consumption levels and the price per gram in various cities around the world.
Residents of the Russian capital consumed 22.87 metric tons of cannabis over the course of a year, placing Moscow in the top 10. New York City took first place, with 77.44 metric tons consumed in 2017.
Cannabis Prices Around the World
In Moscow, the average price for a gram of cannabis is $11.84. The most expensive cities for cannabis are Tokyo ($32.66 per gram), Seoul ($32.44), and Kyoto ($29.65). The cheapest cannabis can be found in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, where a gram costs just $1.34 on average.
