Mike Tyson Releases Edible Ear Gummies with Cannabinoids

Boxing legend Mike Tyson’s cannabis company, Tyson 2.0, has launched a new product: edible gummies shaped like bitten ears, called Mike Bites. These gummies contain cannabinoids derived from cannabis.

The Mike Bites gummies, shaped like bitten ears, are a nod to the infamous 1997 rematch between Tyson and Evander Holyfield. During that fight, Iron Mike bit Holyfield’s ear twice and was disqualified. After the match, the Nevada Athletic Commission revoked Tyson’s boxing license and fined him $3 million.

Thanks to its controversial ending, the Tyson–Holyfield fight became the most talked-about sporting event of the year. Decades later, Tyson decided to capitalize on the moment by creating Mike Bites, a cannabis-infused edible. The first batch has been delivered to California cannabis stores, but the gummies have not yet appeared on shelves, so the price is still unknown.

Should Tyson Share Profits with Holyfield?

Some boxing fans believe Tyson should share the profits with Holyfield, since his ear became part of the marketing campaign. Tyson has not commented on this suggestion, but it seems unlikely he will share proceeds from Mike Bites with his longtime rival.

Tyson Personally Selects and Tests Cannabis Products

Last year, Tyson relaunched his cannabis business and founded Tyson 2.0. In December, the company began selling cannabis in California, using strains that Tyson personally enjoys: Toad lines, Gelato, Lemon Pie, and Runtz. In 2022, the company plans to partner with 400 stores to expand its distribution network fivefold.

As the Chief Brand Officer of Tyson 2.0, Mike Tyson shared his mission: “With the launch of our products, people in the Golden State [California] can try my favorite cannabis strains and cannabinoid products. I personally tested and approved every product developed by Tyson 2.0. Today, I feel much better thanks to the healing properties of cannabis, and I want to share what Tyson 2.0 has created so others can benefit from this magical plant.”
