British Robin Hood Grows and Distributes Cannabis to Patients in Need
Journalists from Vice Media interviewed Jim, a resident of Eastern England who has become known for giving away cannabis for free to patients in need. Despite the constant threat of criminal prosecution, this “Robin Hood” has no intention of abandoning his mission.
Jim Provides Patients with Cannabis Oil and Healing Blends
While working in palliative care, Jim noticed that many clients were buying low-quality marijuana from street dealers and using it for medicinal purposes. He decided he could help his patients suffering from serious illnesses and began growing marijuana himself. He started with 10 plants, eventually increasing the number to 100. Jim and his partners cultivate the plants in different locations to avoid theft and accusations of large-scale cannabis cultivation.
Jim produces full-spectrum cannabis oil and a blend made from marijuana and other medicinal herbs gathered from the fields. Over the past 10 years, he has built a small network of like-minded people who distribute marijuana to patients in need. The activists simultaneously support 150-200 patients. Most people use the organization’s services for several weeks or months, but about 75 people have been receiving cannabis for at least five years.
What Conditions Is Marijuana Most Commonly Used to Treat?
Jim has studied scientific research on the therapeutic potential of cannabis and developed his own treatment methods for various illnesses. For example, to relieve arthritis symptoms, Jim recommends that patients apply cannabis oil with turmeric to affected joints. The effectiveness of Jim’s cannabinoid therapy is based on three main factors:
- High product quality
- Proper dosage
- Strict adherence to the treatment regimen
Word about the group’s activities spreads through word of mouth. People from all age groups and social backgrounds seek help. Most of Jim’s clients use cannabinoids as a pain reliever instead of traditional opioid analgesics. The activists do not turn anyone away, providing marijuana to both the rich and poor, the elderly and children. Members of the group fund the project out of their own pockets, covering the costs of seeds, cultivation and extraction equipment, and farm maintenance.
Police Do Not Punish This Robin Hood for Illegal Cannabis Distribution
Jim says that in 10 years, he has never been arrested. He is concerned about legal trouble but believes that he will not be prosecuted because he does not sell marijuana—he helps people overcome their illnesses. Jim also mentioned that he has supplied marijuana to police officers who needed treatment, so law enforcement is aware of his charitable activities, even though they are technically illegal, and have not intervened.
Recently, a former colleague tried to report the activists to the authorities. As a result, Jim discussed a defense strategy with his lawyer in case he is ever arrested. He has compiled a list of facts and witnesses who can testify on his behalf and is prepared to defend his innocence in court. Jim is confident he can win because, as he says, courts are run by people, not robots.
