Industrial Hemp Sown on 15 Hectares in Sverdlovsk Region
In the Sverdlovsk region, 15 hectares of land have been sown with industrial hemp. It is expected that within a month, the plants will reach a height of 5 to 10 centimeters. This was reported by Nikita Solovyov, director of the company โRustekhkon.โ
โWe specifically visited the field to show how our hemp is growing! It has only recently sprouted, and its height is just 5โ10 centimeters, but in a month we expect each stalk to reach 1 to 1.5 meters tall!โ said Solovyov. In total, 15 hectares have been planted. Next year, the company plans to increase the planting area by several times. The hemp was sown in the Beloyarsky district near the village of Studenchesky.
The company obtained all necessary permits and coordinated the cultivation with the police. โWe were given a schedule for when the police and the National Guard will come for inspections and take hemp leaves for analysis. They will check to ensure the level of narcotic substances does not exceed the legal limit. Since we are growing industrial hemp, the content is either zero or 0.3. The permissible limit is up to 0.5,โ added Solovyov.
In August 2021, Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev announced that the region would begin cultivating industrial hemp to boost the regional budget. โThis is industrial hemp, which was shown to me at the โAll-Russian Field Day.โ You can make clothing and many other useful things from it,โ said Kuyvashev.
