Austrian Doctors Confirm Effectiveness of CBD in COVID-19 Therapy
At the Klagenfurt Clinic in Austria, doctors have confirmed the effectiveness of cannabidiol (CBD) in treating COVID-19 patients. Over a three-week period, several patients were prescribed CBD, starting with a daily dose of 200 milligrams, which was later increased to 300 milligrams. According to Nordbayern, the medication acted as an anti-inflammatory and had a positive effect on the immune system.
“Inflammation markers in the blood decrease, and patients are discharged from the hospital faster compared to the control group. Cannabidiol significantly supports the immune system,” stated Rudolf Likar, head of the intensive care unit. He added that similar methods are being tested not only in Austria but also in Israel.
Previously, researchers from the University of Queensland discovered that CBD kills bacteria responsible for gonorrhea, meningitis, and Legionnaires’ disease, which manifests as severe pneumonia. This finding could lead to the development of a new class of antibiotics.
