qBittorrent 4.6 Released with I2P Anonymous Network Support
The release of qBittorrent 4.6 has been announced. qBittorrent is a torrent client developed using the Qt toolkit and is positioned as an open-source alternative to µTorrent, offering a similar interface and functionality. Key features of qBittorrent include an integrated search engine, RSS subscription support, compatibility with many BEP extensions, remote management via a web interface, sequential downloading, advanced settings for torrents, peers, and trackers, a bandwidth scheduler and IP filter, a torrent creation interface, and support for UPnP and NAT-PMP. The project’s code is written in C++ and is distributed under the GPLv2+ license.
What’s New in qBittorrent 4.6
- Experimental support for the I2P anonymous network: I2P is a distributed, peer-to-peer network that uses end-to-end encryption. It is built using the bandwidth resources provided by its users, with communications inside the network based on encrypted, unidirectional tunnels between participants and peers.
- Improved theme support: A new interface has been added for editing theme parameters.
- Tag management: A dialog has been added for editing tags associated with torrents.
- Redesigned dialogs: The “Watched folder options” and “Automated RSS downloader” dialogs have been revamped.
- Dark mode icons: It is now possible to use different icons in dark mode.
- Queue management: New torrents can now be added to the beginning of the queue.
- Torrent filtering: The torrent list can now be filtered based on the local file path.
- Buffer and file size settings: New options allow users to adjust receive/send buffer sizes, set a maximum torrent file size, limit bdecode, configure tracker merging behavior, stop seeding inactive torrents, and disable confirmation prompts when pausing or resuming all torrents.
- Proxy support: Proxies can now be used for specific subsystems.
- Library version info: A button has been added to copy the list of library versions to the clipboard.
- Web interface improvements: A log viewer has been added, along with log file settings, a bulk file renaming interface, support for subcategories, and the ability to retain network interface bindings after a connection drop.
- RSS Downloader enhancements: A button for renaming rules has been added, RSS feed URLs can now be edited, and download rule priorities can be set.
- FreeBSD support: Builds for FreeBSD now include D-Bus support.
