Huawei Smartphones No Longer Come with Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp Pre-Installed
Sanctions against Huawei and its products continue to intensify. The latest development involves Facebook, which has now prohibited the pre-installation of its apps on smartphones produced by the Chinese company.
The news was first reported by Reuters. In a statement, the internet giant said:
“Facebook will no longer allow the pre-installation of its apps on Huawei smartphones. Customers who already use Huawei smartphones will continue to receive updates and can keep using the apps.”
This means that new Huawei phones will not come with Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram pre-installed. However, existing users will still be able to update and use these applications as usual.
It’s worth noting that Huawei has previously stated that, despite the Android ban, current users will continue to receive security patches.

This week, it was also reported that Huawei has made a deal in which its Russian subsidiary and the Chinese tech giant itself have become owners of the company “Eagle Softlab.” As a result, Huawei has automatically acquired the intellectual property of “Vocord” related to facial recognition technology.
