Hacker USB Cable That Looks Like Apple Lightning Soon Available for Sale

USB Cable That Can Hack Computers Will Soon Be Available for Sale

A new cable that looks just like an official Apple Lightning cable but actually allows remote hacking of computers will soon hit the market. Security researcher Mike Grover, who developed this tool, has announced the successful start of its production.

The O.MG Cable functions just like a regular Apple cable, charging phones and transferring data, but it also contains a built-in wireless access point. This allows a hacker to connect to the cable remotely, execute commands on the computer, and gain access to the victim’s files.

According to the Hak5 company website, which is mass-producing the product, β€œThe O.MG Cable is the result of months of work, resulting in a well-camouflaged malicious USB cable. Once the cable is plugged in, it can be controlled through a wireless network interface built into the cable.”

Grover emphasizes that despite the obvious malicious potential of the O.MG Cable, it was created with good intentions. His goal is to demonstrate that threats can come not only from the internet and various storage devices, but even from seemingly harmless cables.
