Russia Among Top Five Countries for TikTok Video Removals
From April through June, Russia ranked fourth worldwide in the number of videos removed from TikTok for violating the platform’s rules. During this period, 4.76 million videos were blocked in Russia, which is about 27% more than in the first quarter of the year.

Appeals and Restored Content
TikTok allows creators to appeal video removals and restore content if it was taken down by mistake. From April to June, 4,663,387 videos were reinstated after successful appeals. According to TikTok’s report, the platform aims to act consistently in moderation, considering the interests of the community and working to reduce false positives through ongoing policy training and quality checks.
Overall Content Removal Statistics
In the second quarter, TikTok removed a total of 81.52 million videos globally, a 31.6% increase compared to the first quarter. The majority of this content—41.3%—was blocked to protect minors. This category includes videos showing violence, exploitation, or nudity involving individuals under 18 years old.
Speed and Visibility of Removals
- 93% of identified videos were removed within 24 hours of being posted.
- In 87.5% of cases, the removed content had zero views at the time of deletion.
