Russian Police Officer Turns His Home into a Cannabis Farm

In Veliky Ustyug, traffic police officers stopped a car that was moving erratically, suspecting the driver might be under the influence of psychoactive substances. Behind the wheel was, in fact, almost one of their own—a local police lieutenant.

At the time of the stop, the man was off duty. He did not refuse a rapid drug test, which revealed the presence of cannabinoids in his system. Later, police decided to search the officer’s house in the village of Slobodka, where they discovered 23 cannabis plants.

According to the grower-cop, he was cultivating the plants solely for personal use. He now faces up to three years in prison.
