Rosgvardiya Acquires Laser Technology to Disperse Protests
Rosgvardiya has obtained new equipment that will help disperse crowds if necessary. Reports indicate that the agency has purchased special Gazelle vehicles equipped with an integrated non-lethal impact system (SKVN), which includes laser emitters.
The entire set of anti-protest measures cost Rosgvardiya 65.2 million rubles, according to the publication “Open Media.” The relevant documentation can be found on the government procurement website.
New Methods for Crowd Control
Protesters can now be dispersed using both sound and light. The sound method delivers “acoustic pressure” at a distance of 10 meters, reaching 135 dBโcomparable to the noise of a jet taking off.
These systems will be installed on standard Gazelle vehicles, which will be painted gray with a red stripe. Rosgvardiya is expected to receive the new anti-protest equipment by the end of this month.
