Tails 4.14 Distribution Release

The specialized Tails 4.14 distribution (The Amnesic Incognito Live System) has been released. Based on the Debian package base, Tails is designed to provide anonymous internet access. Anonymity in Tails is ensured through the Tor system. By default, all connections except those routed through the Tor network are blocked by a packet filter. User data is encrypted when using the persistent storage mode, allowing data to be saved securely between sessions. The release is available as a 1 GB ISO image that can run in Live mode.

  • Updated to Tor 0.4.4.6
  • Updated to Thunderbird 78.5.1
  • Updated to Tor Browser 10.0.7 (official releases of Tor Browser 10.0.7 and Firefox 84 are expected later in the evening)
  • Linux kernel updated to version 5.9
  • The Unifont font has been removed from the distribution
