Firefox to Offer Easy Generation of Unique Email Aliases

Firefox Users Will Soon Be Able to Easily Generate Unique Email Aliases

Mozilla developers have started working on a new feature called Private Relay. The goal of this innovation is to generate unique aliases that help hide a user’s email address from advertisers and spammers.

Private Relay will be especially useful when filling out online forms. Development on this service began last month, and it is currently in closed beta testing. A public beta version, which anyone can try, is promised to launch a bit later. Private Relay’s features will be available as a Firefox browser extension. With this add-on, users will be able to easily generate unique email addresses.

Once created, the alias can be entered into a web form to create a new account or subscribe to a newsletter. β€œOur goal is to forward incoming messages from the generated inbox to your personal one. If the alias starts receiving unwanted emails, you can simply disable or delete it,” Mozilla explains on the Firefox Private Relay website.

The developers aim to provide Firefox users with an easy way to create and delete email aliases with just a few clicks.
