Scammers Steal Accounts Using Fake Telegram Premium Subscriptions
Recently, scammers have been targeting users by sending messages that appear to come from their contacts, offering a free Telegram Premium subscription. When the victim clicks the link, they are redirected to a bot that asks them to enter a code sent by Telegram.
If the victim provides this code to the bot, the scammer is able to log into the victim’s account. The attacker then sends similar messages to the victimโs contacts and immediately deletes these messages from the victimโs view. This method is effective against accounts that do not have two-factor authentication enabled.
What to Do If You Gave the Code to the Bot
- Go to your Telegram settings.
- Navigate to Devices โ Terminate All Other Sessions.
- Change your password.
- Enable two-factor authentication.
