Long-Term Effectiveness of Cannabis and Plant Extracts in Osteoarthritis Therapy

According to a study by a group of British medical professionals, published in the scientific journal Journal of Pain & Palliative Care Pharmacotherapy, the use of cannabis and its plant extracts in osteoarthritis therapy is associated with significant improvements in patient well-being. The therapeutic effects of cannabinoids remain stable for a long period (up to a year) after the completion of the treatment course, as confirmed by practical observations from various clinics and patients across the country.

The study notes, โ€œIn addition to reducing the chronic pain and discomfort characteristic of the condition, cannabis and its extracts generally had a positive impact on patients, which was reflected in improved tone and subjective well-being among respondents. Both the pain-relieving and tonic effects of cannabinoids were observed in volunteers for extended periods after the end of therapy. Hundreds of people confirmed that the effects of cannabis therapy lasted for many weeks and months. A significant number of patients even reported experiencing beneficial effects a year after completing the treatment course.โ€

It is worth noting that, despite the UK governmentโ€™s reluctance to implement broader reforms regarding medical cannabis, the plant and related products have become relatively accessible to residents through specialized clinics operating under special government authorization. This system has not only provided access to cannabis-based medicines for thousands of Britons but has also created a market that is easy for the local scientific community to analyze.

As a result, in recent years, the country has become a source of numerous interesting independent studies indicating the high effectiveness of cannabis in treating many severe and chronic conditions, ranging from various types of pain to PTSD, cancer, and autism therapy.
