Hackers Target Leading Meat Producer in Rostov Region
Hackers have attacked the information systems of “TAVR,” the largest meat producer in the Rostov region, according to the parent company, Agrokom Group. The attack involved the installation of malicious software on the company’s servers, workstations, and information systems, specifically targeting financial and economic data.
The company’s operations were temporarily paralyzed, resulting in significant economic losses. A report has been filed with law enforcement agencies. Currently, the company is operating in a limited capacity.
Investigation and Response
During the investigation, protocols were discovered that detailed how the attack occurred, and routes of intrusion from foreign countries were identified. In response, the company quickly installed special security equipment to monitor and record new hacking attempts. Economic losses are estimated to be in the tens of millions of rubles.
“It is clear that a carefully planned, large-scale sabotage was carried out against a company that is one of the largest food producers in southern Russia. Today, our team is taking all necessary measures to protect production processes and ensure the region’s food security,” said Alexander Remeta, Executive Director of LLC “RKZ-TAVR.”
