Netflix Introduces Limited Edition Cannabis Strains Inspired by Its TV Series

Online streaming giant Netflix has officially entered the U.S. cannabis market, releasing a limited batch of exotic cannabis buds under the name “The Netflix Collection.” This exclusive line features 10 different strains, each inspired by a popular Netflix original series.

According to the company’s press release, “Each of these strains was cultivated to reflect the general style and spirit of each individual show, so that the final product would create an effect most suitable for enjoying the material.” For example, strains named after lighter, more comedic series are indica-dominant hybrids, while those inspired by drama-heavy shows are sativa-based, designed to enhance the emotional impact of intense scenes.

Strains Named After Hit Netflix Shows

Each strain in the collection is named with a nod to the show it represents. For instance, the strain paired with “Arrested Development” is called “Banana Stand Kush,” referencing the banana stand owned by the show’s main family. Other strains are inspired by series like “BoJack Horseman,” “Orange Is the New Black,” and more Netflix hits.

Official Launch in West Hollywood

The official launch of the collection took place over the past weekend at Alternative Herbal Health Services, a dispensary located in West Hollywood. Interestingly, this shop recently served as a filming location for the Netflix sitcom “Disjointed,” a comedy about the daily life of a California cannabis dispensary run by an aging hippie, played by actress Kathy Bates.

Since these special strains were produced in extremely limited quantities, it’s likely that all available buds will be sold out by the end of the week. However, Netflix has not ruled out the possibility of producing new batches if the strains prove popular with consumers.
