Facebook Launches New Tor Onion Service
On May 26, 2021, Facebook announced the launch of a new Tor onion service, replacing the previous address facebookcorewwwi.onion. The update was shared on the official Facebook over Tor page, where users were encouraged to bookmark the new service address and were given an explanation for the change.

Why the Change?
According to the announcement, Tor onion services have existed for over 15 years, during which time mathematics and cryptography have advanced significantly. As a result, Tor has released a newer, more secure version of onion services based on modern cryptography, which the new Facebook onion service now uses.
The old onion link was easy to remember, but the new service address is more complex. Therefore, users are advised to double-check the onion address when accessing Facebook through Tor.
How to Find the New Facebook Onion Service
