El Planteo Becomes the First Cannabis Magazine in the Metaverse

The Spanish-language web magazine El Planteo, dedicated to news about cannabis, psychedelics, ecology, investments, pop culture, and crypto, is now available in the Cryptovoxels metaverse. A newsstand providing access to the magazine has been set up on the first floor of the dispensary operated by the cannabis company Higher Life CBD, which moved into the metaverse in December of last year.

“We are not aware of any precedent where Spanish-language media have expanded into the metaverse. The same goes for media focused on niche topics like ours, from cannabis to psychedelics and freestyle rap,” said Javier Hasse, founder and author of El Planteo.

He also added that El Planteo is the third publication to be represented in the metaverse. Before them, the American weekly Time and the Chinese Mo Magazine, published by e-commerce giant Alibaba, had already made the move.

Brandon Howard, CEO of Higher Life CBD, said he is very excited about the metaverse alliance among cannabis industry representatives and that he “couldn’t think of a better partner for this initiative.”
