Drugs and Me Launches AI Chatbot for Cannabis and Psychedelics Questions
The nonprofit organization Drugs and Me has released a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that answers questions about cannabis, psychedelics, and other drugs. This virtual assistant is available for free to all users.
Why Was the Chatbot Created?
The team at Drugs and Me developed the chatbot in response to the legalization of cannabis and psychedelics in the United States, which they believe requires new educational initiatives. The AI was trained using reliable sources such as the PsychonautWiki encyclopedia, the UK-based Drug Science advisory service, and the Reducing Harm organization, which works to minimize the risks associated with psychoactive substances. In the future, experts plan to expand the chatbot’s knowledge base to make it even more advanced.
Privacy and Data Collection
During conversations, the chatbot collects some user data, which is stored anonymously to help improve the AI. The developers guarantee confidentiality but caution users not to blindly trust the chatbot, as it may still make mistakes. The software is free to use, and anyone can test its effectiveness themselves.
Drugs and Me representatives stated: “We created the chatbot for drug users, their friends and family, and professionals who work with people who use drugs. Did you like our chatbot or have suggestions for improvement? Share your ideas anonymously by sending us feedback.”

After agreeing to the terms, you can ask any question. For example, when we asked the AI about the average THC dose, it provided a detailed answer along with links to information sources. In short, the chatbot explained that the average cannabinoid dose ranges from 5 to 25 mg and depends on several factors, including body weight and method of consumption.
Chatbot Features and Limitations
- The virtual assistant currently understands only English and Spanish.
- You can send up to 30 messages per day.
- The chatbot will suggest follow-up questions based on your chosen topic. For example, it may offer to discuss THC tolerance, dosing when smoking cannabis, or signs of cannabinoid intoxication.
