Users Most Often Search for Ways to Hack iPhones and Instagram
A British company, Case24.com, has discovered what users most frequently want to hack. According to their findings, the iPhone leads by a wide margin among smartphones, while Instagram and Snapchat are the top targets among apps.
Study Methodology
To conduct the study, experts analyzed Google search queries from users in the United Kingdom and the United States.
iPhone: The Most Desired Target
In the UK, about 10,040 users searched for ways to hack an iPhone, while only 700 searches were related to hacking Samsung smartphones. Other mobile brands (including Huawei, LG, Nokia, and Sony) also made the list, but the iPhone surpassed them all by a huge margin.
Similar trends were observed in the US, where the gap was even larger: users searched for “how to hack iPhone” 48,010 times, compared to just 3,100 searches for hacking Samsung devices.
Instagram and Snapchat Lead Among Apps
The researchers also looked at searches related to hacking apps. Instagram was the clear leader: 12,310 people in the UK searched for ways to hack an Instagram account. Snapchat came in second with 7,380 searches, and WhatsApp was close behind in third place with 7,100 searches.
In the US, “how to hack Instagram” was also the most popular search, with researchers identifying 66,960 such queries.
